Defying the Odds

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” – Daniel 3:17 (KJV)

It is encouraging to note how the three Hebrew boys exhibited tenacious confidence and faith in our Heavenly Father unto the point of death while boldly declaring that God will deliver them even at the stage of death in a fiery furnace (Daniel 3). The account stated that God stood as the fourth man in the fire to prevent them from burning to death (Daniel 3:24-25). Saints, remember God is the same God yesterday, today, and forever more. He can do it again.

We also have the account of David, another young lad who trusted God to defend Israel against the Philistine army. He successfully defeated Goliath, the giant Philistine champion, with a stone and his sling, and taking his (Goliath’s) own sword, cut off his head (1 Samuel 17:50-51).

Today, I encourage you to use the Word of God that is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12) and call upon the Lord of Host to remove every giant that stands before you. He’s ready and waiting.

God also demonstrated His power through His son Jesus Christ at Lazarus’ tomb. Lazarus had been dead for four days before Jesus’s arrival, yet Jesus commanded him to “…Come forth” (John 11:43). Lazarus emerged from the tomb, still wrapped in burial clothes, signifying a miraculous resurrection (John 11:44).

Brethren, I pray this season that God unwraps every dead thing that binds you, allowing you to walk in great victory. He can do it again! Amen!
